Welcome to Our Centre
We offer specialized, government-supported care for patients with Hemophilia, Thalassemia, and rare blood disorders. Backed by the Ashadhara Scheme and the National Health Mission (NHM), our mission is to ensure safe, continuous, and cost-free treatment.
✓ Did you know? Over 60% of identified people with Hemophilia (PwH) in Kerala are enrolled with our Centre.
About Us
The Hemophilia Treatment Centre at District Hospital, Aluva, functions under the supervision of the Medical Superintendent and is jointly sponsored by the NHM and District Panchayat. Our comprehensive services began with support from the Karunya Benevolent Fund in 2014, inaugurated by the Hon. Chief Minister Mr. Oommen Chandy.
In 2015, the Royal Medicine Project was launched to support pediatric prophylaxis, marking the Ernakulam District Panchayat as the first Local Self Government in India to initiate such care. In 2021, the Ashadhara Scheme replaced the Karunya Fund, providing free factor concentrates and medicines for Hemophilia A, B, and Thalassemia under 18 years of age.
Our Core Functions:
- ✓ Diagnosis, counseling, and comprehensive treatment for three major disorders
